Findings by Drs. Richard James and David Rawlings reveal B cell receptor signaling’s role in post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder.

New findings from the James Lab, published in the journal Molecular Therapy, show proof-of-concept that engineered human plasma B cells can be used to treat leukemia in a humanized model, with implications for other cancers, as well as autoimmune and protein deficiency disorders.

Key findings from the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies will be shared at the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy’s Annual Meeting from May 7 to 11 in Baltimore, Maryland.

We are excited to have Rupa Devi Soligalla and Naomi Sibayan join the lab. They will be both be developing methods to engraft murine antibody secreting cells into normal immune competent hosts.

We are excited to have Andee join us after completing her undergraduate degree at the UW. She will work with the B cell engineering group to improve engineering of loci for expression of proteins by B cells.

We are excited to have Tyler Hill join the lab as a graduate student from the UW MCB program. Tyler plans to focus his studies on engineering human B cells to secrete potentially therapeutic affinity reagents.
