Accessibility and Special Needs
Please let our staff know what resources you need before your child's clinic visit, hospital stay or surgery.
Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services
- When scheduling an appointment, let them know you need an interpreter.
- When you are here, you can request an in-person interpreter, or we have video interpreting services available 24 hours a day.
We provide free interpreting for languages other than English, Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients and families.
When making an appointment, ask your scheduler for an interpreter.
During an inpatient stay, ask your nurse.
Available in Ocean parking, on Helen Lane near the River entrance and in Emergency Department parking. For a campus map and parking information, visit our hospital campus page.
We provide wheelchairs, carts, wagons and strollers for patients and families to use while in the hospital. Ask at any entrance desk.
Family Restrooms and Large Changing Tables
There are two family restrooms to meet the needs of families with children too large (over 30 pounds) to diaper or change using the baby changing stations located in the public restrooms. Each room has a toilet, sink and large platform.
- Between the Frog elevator and vending on level 3, River zone
- Across from the entrance desk on level 7, Ocean zone
Service animals are welcome at Seattle Children’s Hospital and all clinics. Service animals are not pets, companion animals or therapy dogs. We apply the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, which define a service animal as “one that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.” These animals do not need special permission to come to Seattle Children’s.
Bike parking is available at River Circle near the River entrance, at the Ocean 7 staff entrance off of Penny Drive and near the Ocean 8 entrance.
