Objectives and Disclosures

Participants will be able to:

  1. Apply a multi-disciplinary approach to resolve ethical conflicts by integrating guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  2. Analyze the ethical tensions surrounding the withdrawal of artificial nutrition and hydration (ANH), focusing on the proportionality of benefits versus burdens.
  3. Utilize the Zone of Parental Discretion (ZPD) and explain how prognostic uncertainty influences the width of this zone in clinical decision-making.
