  • Biography

Dr. Scott Yang was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He enrolled in the accelerated BS/MD Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University where he completed both Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering and Doctor of Medicine degrees. After being tired of the freezing cold for half the year in Chicago, he moved to picturesque Charlottesville, Virginia to complete his orthopedic surgery residency training in the academic orthopaedic training program (additional training in research) at the University of Virginia where he earned the distinguished chief resident award. He completed his Pediatric Orthopaedics and Spinal Deformity fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, learning advanced techniques from leaders in pediatric spine surgery. He practiced for 7 years in Portland, Oregon prior to joining the faculty at Seattle Children’s Hospital. His philosophy of care for each child is delivering compassion, developing a partnership with the family in the journey of care, and providing critical attention to detail for each child’s safety.
