"As a former athlete, I understand the mental and physical impact of injury and missing competition. My goal as a physician is to keep kids in the game! We try to minimize time missed, but will never do it in an unsafe manner. The Seattle Childrens Sports team has unique expertise with multiple physicians having been former Division I college athletes and having competed at very high levels. We understand the drive of our patients and the pressure they get from coaches, parents, and themselves. We want to treat the current injury, prevent future injury, and return kids to play as all around better athletes!"

We are so thankful for being referred by our pediatrician to Seattle Children’s and lucky to be a patient of Dr Hansell Lockhart. He helped our 13 year old daughter and myself understand concussions in a very relatable way. He has great understanding of sports concussions and made us feel at ease. We would absolutely recommend him for any type of concussion related issues! Thank you Dr Hansell Lockhart, you are much appreciated!!

We were very impressed with Dr. Lockhart. He has an excellent bedside manner, he is kind, and he has a thoughtful approach to diagnosis. His decision-making seems sound and considers all factors while prioritizing the patient’s health. I work in healthcare and interact with orthopods weekly. He’s one of the best clinicians I’ve seen. We felt good having our daughter in his care and walked away with a solid rest and rehab plan to get her back on the field, strong and healthy.

Dr Lockhart is great! We really appreciate the way that he talks directly to my daughter and makes sure that she 100% understands what the plan is, what potential risks are for different treatments, what his advice is but then puts her in the driver's seat of her own health decisions. He answers her questions thoroughly and takes the time to really know how she feels about different treatment options. I feel like he is helping her to become a better advocate for her health care treatment as she heads into adulthood. I also appreciate how he is not opposed to trying different things like PT and Acupuncture instead of just throwing a prescription out.

Fabulous doctor! Dr. Lockhart is thorough, witty, and delightful. I appreciate the way he handled the visit with my 18-yo daughter. He explained her symptoms, tests, results, and treatment plan to her, making sure she understood everything. She felt very comfortable during her appointment and left his office pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Lockhart for ANY of your sports medicine needs.

I highly recommend Dr. Lockhart. My 14-year-old daughter is a competitive cheerleader and he successfully treated a knee injury and she's now seeing him for a stress fracture. She adores him and I am impressed by his knowledge and compassion. He had to tell her recently that while she couldn't compete for three months, he would get her back to cheer as soon as possible. Dr. Lockhart takes time to explain everything and makes her feel better about the road to recovery. As a parent, you can't ask for more than that.

Dr. Lockhart has been wonderful with our son's concussion recovery. Our son really enjoys Dr. Lockhart's sense of humor, respects his knowledge, and follows his recommendations. I appreciate his knowledge - both research-based and clinical -- and his compassion. Dr. Lockhart is our son's all-time favorite!
