Primary Medical Care
What is primary medical care?
Primary medical care features services to prevent and treat minor illnesses and injuries for children, teens and young adults ages 0 to 21.
Primary Medical Care
Richmond Pediatrics features a team of medical providers, nurses, medical assistants and other family support service team members who work together to deliver care tailored to the needs of each patient.
We work closely with you, your child and other members of the healthcare team to address non-emergency medical issues. We offer a variety of primary care services to prevent and treat illnesses and injuries. This includes:
- Newborn screenings
- Sick visits
- Sports physicals
- Well-child visits
Please call 911 if there is a life-threatening medical emergency requiring immediate medical attention.
Newborn Screenings
We will see your newborn after they are born and leave the hospital or birthing center. It is recommended that you schedule that visit with us as close to 2 days after leaving the hospital as possible. Please do not schedule the visit until the baby is born.
What should we do if my child has a concern after office hours?
If a non-emergency medical problem arises after office hours, visit Richmond Pediatrics After-Hours Clinic or call our office at 206-546-2421 and press 2 and you will be directed to connect to the after-hours consulting nurses. Please note that there is a $20 charge for each call to the Nurse Triage Team.
If you or the nurse consultant feels that your child’s illness or concern should not wait until our office reopens, we recommend visiting Richmond Pediatrics After-Hours Clinic or Seattle Children's urgent care or emergency care.
- Urgent Care and Richmond Pediatrics After-Hours Clinic visits are not for medical emergencies. If your child’s illness or injury is life-threatening, call 911. If you’re not sure where to bring your child, check out the Emergency or Urgent Care guide.
- For in-person visits, please make an appointment before you arrive to ensure your child will get care. Please note this is an estimated time to be seen. Due to high demand, you may have to wait even if you have reserved a time.
