On staff since August 2011

Academic Title: Assistant Professor

Matthew P Kronman, MD, MSCE: Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Kronman's primary research area of interest is antimicrobial stewardship, using the tools of pharmacoepidemiology to understand current patterns of antimicrobial use, identify the unintended consequences of antimicrobial overuse, and ultimately find ways to improve the overall quality of antimicrobial prescribing for various conditions.

His clinical time is split between inpatient Infectious Diseases consultations and the outpatient Infectious Diseases clinic. In addition, he is the Fellowship Program Director for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship. He also serves as a consultant to the Seattle Children's Hospital Clinical Effectiveness program, assisting with the development and implementation of clinical pathways of care for inpatients at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Recommendations

  • John Butte, MT 05.08.15

I am a pediatrician in a small rural community in Montana that does not have easy geographical access to many pediatric sub-specialists. I am very appreciative of Dr. Matthew Kronman as he went over and beyond his duties to support my patient and the family after their baby was given an uncertain diagnosis. He was available by phone to support the family and was able to explain complicated concepts in a kind and simple way to understand that made the family feel at ease. I appreciate his support and care for the children and families of Montana.

  • Sandra Normandy Park, WA 01.08.13

Dr. Kronman is extremely knowledgeable about treating infection, and he is very personable. He is patient and explains medical matters in a way that parents and pediatric patients can understand. Dr. Kronman treated are daughter both inhospital and as an outpatient. He was very thorough. Thank you.
