Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program

Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic Places to Stay and Transportation

Seattle Children’s is here to support you and your family during your child’s bone marrow or stem cell transplant.

If you are coming from out of town to receive care at Seattle Children’s, we recommend that you arrange temporary housing as soon as you know your arrival date. Some accommodations and financial assistance can take several weeks to arrange. Patients undergoing a bone marrow or stem cell transplant are asked to live within a 30-minute drive (in heavy traffic) of Seattle Children’s Hospital.

For help finding lodging for your stay, contact Guest Services.

Bedside

Most patient rooms have a sleeper chair or couch where one parent or guardian can sleep at night. Staying bedside depends on the patient's condition, available space and safety. Ask your nurse about the rules for your child’s unit. Siblings and visitors may not stay overnight. See the visiting section to learn more

RV/Trailer Parking

We offer a few RV/trailer parking spots with electrical and water hookups for patient families. These spots are by reservation only and available for parents and caregivers of current patients who meet the eligibility requirements.

You may be eligible to park your RV/trailer at Seattle Children’s if:

  • You are a legal parent or caregiver of a current patient, or you are a patient of Seattle Children’s Prenatal Diagnosis and Treatment Program.
  • Your home is at least 45 miles from the hospital’s campus.
  • You are not a resident of the Ronald McDonald House.
  • You plan to use the RV/trailer as a residence, in place of other accommodations.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, please call Guest Services at 206-987-9330 to register for a space.
