Stay Up to Date on Routine Immunizations
To stay protected from rising measles cases in the area and across the country, please make sure you and your child are current on routine immunizations, including the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine.
Measles is a highly contagious disease caused by the measles virus. Measles can cause serious health complications, especially for babies and young children. Here are recommendations from the Snohomish County Health Department for those who live in or travel to Snohomish County:
- Children ages 1 to 17: Should receive their first dose of the MMR vaccine as soon as possible.
- Early second dose: If your child has already had 1 dose, a second dose is recommended sooner than usual:
- 28 days after the first dose (if the first was MMR).
- 3 months after the first dose [if the first was measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV)].
- Early second dose: If your child has already had 1 dose, a second dose is recommended sooner than usual:
- Infants ages 6 to 11 months: While not routinely recommended, an early dose of MMR should be given if you plan to travel internationally or to an area outside Washington state where public health recommends vaccination because of an active measles outbreak.
For more details on routine immunizations, view the vaccine schedule from the American Academy of Pediatrics. To make an immunization appointment for your child, call our clinic at 206-546-2421 or schedule an immunization-only visit through your child’s MyChart account.
Seasonal Vaccines Now Available
We offer seasonal vaccines including influenza (flu) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Your child can get a vaccine during an in-person visit. Schedule an appointment through MyChart or by calling 206-546-2421 during regular business hours.
Please note: We will offer COVID-19 vaccines when they are available from the Washington State Department of Health.
