Repository and Registry for Immune-Mediated Diseases

CIIT_Biobank_Rheumatology

What is the goal of the study?

The primary objective is to identify molecular defects underlying immune dysfunction in patients with immune-mediated diseases. Samples will be collected that will allow detailed characterization of each patient in comparison to family members and healthy controls, in order to identify specific defects associated with immune-mediated disease. Experimental procedures will include gene sequencing, immunophenotyping, microbiome sequencing, cytokine assays, and functional immune assays. The secondary objective is to bank samples and store clinical data from 3 participant cohorts: Patients with immune-mediated diseases, “Other” participants (parents or other family members of patient participants), and Healthy Control participants. The specimen repository and clinical database will be used as a resource for future research focused on discovering the molecular basis and novel treatment targets for immune-mediated diseases.
