What is the goal of the study?
Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is a painful, often “invisible,” autoinflammatory skeletal condition presenting in late childhood to early adolescence. Pain in CRMO is described as severe, worse at night, and with physical activity. Therefore, it is particularly critical to understand the immediate and longer-term impact of sleep disturbances in this population, along with its impact on pain, disease activity, and functioning. This is a prospective cohort study that will: 1) Characterize and compare sleep patterns in children with CRMO using self-report and actigraphic assessment 2) Identify clinical and psychological factors associated with sleep disturbances in children with CRMO 3) Examine the longitudinal trajectories of sleep disturbances and pain outcomes in children with CRMO over 6 months We plan to enroll at least N=60 children, adolescents, and young adults with CRMO, along with their parents.
