HARMS: Idiopathic Scoliosis

What is the goal of the study?

To improve clinical and surgical outcomes for patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis who are undergoing a spinal fusion procedure, a surgery which helps correct scoliosis. This study compares our institution's outcomes with those of other participating centers, all member sites of the internationally recognized Harms Study Group (named after its co-founder, surgeon Jürgen Harms). We aim to examine patient reported quality of life, effectiveness of various surgical techniques, outcomes measured from X-Rays, and more.

Who can participate in the study?

Patients <26 years old with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. scheduled for definitive spinal fusion surgery.>
