Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Phenotyping-Genotyping of Patients with Hypospadias

Comprehensive hypospadias

What is the goal of the study?

The objective is to use standardized data to identify clinical ways to improve patient care. We will leverage the experience gained on a currently approved study (IRB 00000568) and ongoing protocol for proximal hypospadias. We plan to follow a similar structure for systematic data, digital imaging, and anatomical anthropometric data capturing. Aims 1. To standardize phenotyping (anthropometric and histological) and genotyping of patients with hypospadias. 2. To classify and describe hypospadias phenotype using novel digital image analysis and infrared imaging. 3. To compare and correlate standardized phenotyping and genotyping to novel phenotyping technologies. Hypotheses to be tested: Development of a standardized multidisciplinary phenotyping model will allow the detection of novel phenotype features that will improve genotype correlation and increase clinical predictability.
