High School Cancer Group
|
Who should attend? This group is for high school students who have received treatment for cancer or a brain tumor. You are welcome to attend, whether you are currently in treatment, recently finished treatment, or finished treatment many years ago. Most high schoolers have never met another person their age with cancer before attending this group and most group members say that it is helpful to know other people their age who have experienced similar things related to their cancer treatment. |
How long is the group and what does it cover? The group meets for 8 one-hour sessions. You will give and receive support from other group members and learn about issues related to cancer in adolescence.
|
Where and when is the group?Groups may be offered in person at Seattle Children’s Hospital or by telehealth (video) using Zoom. To find out the day and time of the next group session, please email [email protected]. |
How much does it cost?Your insurance will be billed for each session you attend. We recommend that you call your insurance company to find out if the cost of the group is covered and how much you need to pay if the full amount is not covered. The codes billed for the patient group are: 96164 (1 unit) and 96165 (2 units). |
