Digistrip Silicone Finger Sleeve

For scar treatment

What is a Digistrip silicone finger sleeve?

It is a soft, comfortable, elastic fabric sleeve half-coated with a Silipos polymer gel. The gel lining contains a medical grade mineral oil that softens over time and moisturizes the skin. Skin doctors (dermatologists) have tested the Silipos gel, and it is safe. You can wash and reuse it. We place it on your child's finger to provide pressure and help reduce scar tissue.

How should I use the Digistrip silicone finger sleeve for my child’s scar?

Follow these steps:

  1. Clean the scar and area around it with water.
  2. Dry the area with a clean towel.
  3. Slide the finger sleeve over the finger, making sure to position the silicone gel on top of your child’s scar.
  4. Remove it for at least 3 to 4 hours each day to allow the skin to breathe.

What to avoid

Avoid using the Digistrip silicone finger sleeve on open wounds, scabs or stitches (sutures). If your child gets a rash around or under the sleeve, take it off and call your child’s occupational therapist or healthcare provider.

How do I take care of the Digistrip finger sleeve?

Wash it with a mild soap like Woolite and water. Rinse well and allow it to air dry.

Other important information regarding scars

  • For 1 year, use sunscreen or cover scars when your child is in the sun.
  • Remove sleeve for bathing.
