Pediatric Nursing Update logo

Duncan Seminar logo

Held every March, the Duncan Seminar, established in 1977 by Lynn T. Staheli, MD, honors the legacy of William R. Duncan, MD, a pioneering leader in pediatric orthopedics and disability care. Dr. Duncan, born and raised in Seattle, dedicated his career to improving the lives of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. He founded numerous programs in the Northwest, including the Boyer Children's Clinic; the Cerebral Palsy Clinic at Seattle Children’s; and statewide diagnostic clinics for children with special health needs.

A nationally recognized expert, Dr. Duncan emphasized a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to pediatric care, focusing on the “whole child.” The seminar continues this vision, fostering collaboration and innovation in pediatric healthcare. Supported by Dr. Duncan’s family and key organizations, the Duncan Seminar remains a vibrant platform for advancing knowledge and care for children with disabilities.
