David de Give, MD

Dr. David de Give

Dr. David de Give was born and raised in Olympia, Washington, where his father only recently retired after 40+ years as a practicing pediatrician. He accepted a National Merit Scholarship to attend Rice University in Houston, Texas, where his love of the outdoors led him to major in geology. After completing additional premedical requirements he was offered a Southwestern Medical Foundation J.W. Simmons Scholarship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He then accepted a position as one of the first pediatrics and global child health residents at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, working from 2012 to 2013 in Malawi at a Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative clinic and Kamuzu Central Hospital before finishing his training in Houston in 2014. He joined Richmond Pediatrics in 2017 after three years in private practice in the Portland, Oregon, area.

Dr. de Give was drawn to pediatrics by the joy and resiliency of his patients. He strives to provide the most informed and evidence-based care possible, and as such he is a firm advocate of timely vaccination.

Personally he enjoys coffee, spicy food and spending time with his wife exploring the Puget Sound and Cascades, whether by boat, on alpine skis or towed behind a large kite.
