The Chest Wall and Spine Deformity Registry.
What is the goal of the study?
The Chest Wall and Spine Deformity Registry is operated by the Children's Spine Foundation (CSF) and collects patient data on children with spine and chest wall disorders. Any type of spine and chest wall deformity as determined by the investigator may be entered. The most common type of spine deformity in children is scoliosis. Scoliosis takes many forms and often can be associated with other congenital disorders. Because of the complexity and rarity of spine and chest wall problems in young children, a single institution often does not have a large enough patient population to provide meaningful research results. The Chest Wall and Spine Deformity Registry will be comprised of clinical data that will be used retrospectively to study complex spine and chest wall disorders in children. The purpose of this database is to provide a multi-center patient registry allowing investigators to combine patient data of this very small patient population that will be used for research involving the study of complex spine and chest wall disorders in children.
Who can participate in the study?
Early-Onset Scoliosis in patients 10 and under. Patients with Cervical Spine abnormalities. Patient is currently being treated by the orthopedics clinic at Seattle Children's.
