About the Youth Voice Research Liaison Program
Seattle Children’s Research Institute’s Youth Voice Research Liaison Program is a unique hybrid opportunity (virtual and in-person) for high school students interested in science, public health and community-based research. This paid training and consulting program empowers youth to become active contributors to real-world research that impacts their communities.
Over the first two months, participants will build research literacy and leadership through monthly hybrid sessions. Youth will explore research ethics, methods, data analysis and inclusive communication strategies. Through hands-on learning and group collaboration, students will develop the skills to engage confidently with researchers.
Upon completing the training, students will join the Youth Research Liaison Consulting Roster, where they’ll be matched with Seattle Children’s research teams working on projects relevant to youth. As youth consultants, they will provide feedback on study design, outreach materials and recruitment strategies, as well as co-create youth-friendly presentations and summaries of research findings.
