Welcome to Seattle Children’s Rehabilitation Therapy. Below is information about what to expect during your child’s physical, occupational or speech therapy and how you can help us give your child the best possible care. |
Appointments and schedulingTo schedule or cancel an appointment:
Changing or Cancelling an appointmentIf you are unable to attend your visit, please cancel the appointment as soon as you can. This will allow us to make the time available for another patient. There are several ways to cancel or change an appointment:
IllnessIf your child is ill or has been ill within the last 24 hours with a fever, cough or vomiting, please do not bring them to therapy. Call us to reschedule. |
Visiting during therapy sessionsOnly one parent is allowed in the gym during therapy sessions. This improves safety and lowers distractions during therapy. Please check in with your child’s therapist before and after each session. This is a great time to talk about your child’s treatment plan and progress as well as address any questions or concerns. |
Patients who may come aloneAfter the first visit, some patients may be able to come to therapy alone. Your child’s care team can let you know whether they are able to be left alone for therapy.
Therapy goalsWe provide short-term treatment following an acute illness or injury or a long hospital stay. Our therapists will work with you and your child to create specific short-term, functional goals to address during therapy. |
Health changesPlease tell your therapist about any changes in your child’s medical status that may impact their therapy session. |
Costs and InsuranceYou are financially responsible for your child’s therapy services. Please check your therapy benefits with your insurance company. If you have questions or need help, contact our financial counselors at 206-987-3333. |
