Pacific Northwest Ballet Dancers Pay Special Visit to Seattle Children’s Patients

12.14.2023 | Elle Nelson

A patient wearing the most beautiful tutu is surrounded by ballerinasThe halls of Seattle Children’s are decked with holiday cheer after patients and families were surprised by a special visit from a group of Pacific Northwest Ballet dancers hoping to spread happiness throughout the hospital.

The dancers spent time with patients, handed out holiday-themed gifts and read The Nutcracker aloud. The ballerinas also decorated ballet slippers in the hospital playroom and brought tutus and tiaras for patients to try on.

In November, the Pacific Northwest Ballet invited Seattle Children’s patients, who are immunocompromised or who would otherwise be unable to attend a Nutcracker performance, to a private dress rehearsal. Patients and their families say they had a truly magical experience.

Seattle Children’s is honored and grateful to the Pacific Northwest Ballet for these exciting opportunities for our patients and their families this holiday season.
