Seattle Children's Orthopedic Injury Urgent Care Opening This Fall

September 4, 2024

A Seattle Children's doctor examine's a patient's legIn response to the growing need for urgent care related to orthopedic injuries and the importance of pediatric patients having timely access to specialized orthopedic care, Seattle Children's will be opening an Orthopedic Injury Urgent Care clinic this fall. Seattle Children’s Orthopedic Injury Urgent Care will be the very first pediatric specialty orthopedic urgent care location in Washington state.

The clinic will provide an accelerated path to specialty care without the need for a referral by offering same-day orthopedic assessments, treatment and a care plan including x-ray and advanced imaging, bracing, and casting. Advanced treatment, including surgery for acute injuries, will be available when needed.

"It is imperative that pediatric patients are treated by a team that specializes in how to care for patients whose bodies and bones are still growing. Often, our care plans and interventions will differ from teams that traditionally care for adults."

– Burt Yaszay, MD, Medical Director of Seattle Children's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Seattle Children's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team includes pediatric orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and genetic counselors specializing in pediatric orthopedics. All our doctors are board certified in their specialties and provide surgical and nonsurgical care for patients up to 21 years old.

Additional information about the new clinic will be shared in the October issue of Provider News.
