  • Biography

Dr. Seja Abudiab grew up in South Texas and slowly made her way north throughout her training. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University, followed by medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas. She then moved to Seattle, where she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital, along with a Health Equity Research Fellowship and a Master of Science in Public Health.

As the child of an immigrant family, Dr. Abudiab developed a deep interest in refugee and immigrant health. This led her to pursue research focused on improving care for these communities, with several resulting publications during her fellowship years.

Dr. Abudiab is thrilled to be part of Richmond Pediatrics and is passionate about building long-term relationships with families—partnering with parents as they navigate the joys and challenges of raising children.

Outside of clinic, Dr. Abudiab finds joy in spending time with her husband and their three young children (ages 1, 4, and 6), who have greatly enriched her understanding of parenthood and humbled her in her approach to pediatric medicine. She loves exploring Seattle’s parks, traveling abroad, and is always on the hunt for the city’s best donut.
