Nicholas Hasle, MD, PhD
Pronounced: Hass-luh
"I love pediatric rheumatology for the long-term relationships I build with patients and their families as they navigate the mysterious, chronic, and sometimes serious autoimmune conditions that we treat. The stories and questions that families bring to their visits inspire my research, which aims to understand how and why the immune system turns on the body -- and in turn helps identify new treatment targets."

Biography
Research Description
I'm currently in the Jackson Lab at Seattle Children's Research Institute, where I'm analyzing kidney biopsies from patients with autoimmune kidney disease using a new technology called spatial transcriptomics and proteomics. These data give us new insight into what the immune system is doing when it attacks the kidney.
