Biography
After spending four years in legal practice, Katie joined the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics and Palliative Care in 2014. She is the Director of the Research Bioethics Consultation Service through the University of Washington’s Institute of Translational Health Sciences. Katie also serves as Co-Chair of the national Clinical Research Ethics Consultation Collaborative and is the previous Chair of the Clinical Research Ethics Consultation Affinity Group through the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. She is a member of the Seattle Children’s IRB and serves on the Research Anti-Racism Committee at Seattle Children's Research Institute. Her professional interests include research ethics and improvement of the informed consent process.
