  • Biography

    Dr. Jennifer Franks is an assistant professor in the Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CDBRM) at Seattle Children's Research Institute and in the Department of Pediatrics (Division of Genetic Medicine) at University of Washington.

    Dr. Franks earned her PhD from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth where she developed machine learning approaches for molecular subtypes in systemic sclerosis with Michael Whitfield, PhD. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship with Cole Trapnell, PhD in the Department of Genome Sciences at University of Washington working on single-cell analyses of inflammation and fibrosis in multiple organs. 

    Research Description

    The Franks lab aims to understand the cellular and molecular dynamics regulating inflammation and progressive fibrosis in lung diseases and other tissues. We develop computational methods to improve 'omics analyses in complex disease.
