Children's Title: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

"“My nursing career has taken me many places including various Emergency Rooms around the United States, abroad to Haiti and Nicaragua, and to a summer camp in New England for children with serious illnesses. Of all my work experiences, the best job I have ever had is at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. I love this place. In my role, I split my time between primary care and the sickle cell clinic. I am very lucky to have such a fun and dynamic job, surrounded by incredible coworkers and a lot of really cute kids. I have cared for individuals living with sickle cell disease since 2009. Sickle cell is fascinating. Just one altered gene affects one type of blood cell, but in turn almost every organ system in the body can be impacted. Sickle cell disease also teaches us a lot about how systemic racism and oppression significantly impact health outcomes. It is a privilege to work at OBCC, which was founded on anti-racist principals. Those principals continue to inform our work every single day. My goal is always to meet families where they are at and to care for the whole child, not just their blood disease or chief complaint. Chronic disease is a marathon not a sprint. It is my honor to jog alongside my patients through it all.” "

SHE IS THE BEST DOCTOR EVER. She is knowledable and from day 1 she treated my family like her own. She cared so much for my son and still until this day when she calls she makes things happen. She is the best in the Sickle Cell Department and hands down the best person I ever met. Thank God she came into my life and saved my son.
