The Washington Partnership Access Line Has Reduced Hours

October 1, 2025

During the 2025 Washington state legislative session, Seattle Children’s requested funding to sustain Partnership Access Line (PAL) programs. Despite an increase in funds appropriated by the legislature, subsequent Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) cuts have resulted in PAL programing receiving a 16% reduction in funding.

What’s Changing?

This reduction in funding resulted in shortened hours. Healthcare professionals will now need to access this service Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST to be directly connected to a PAL child and adolescent psychiatrist.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Although this change is notable, Seattle Children’s unwavering commitment to our community providers, patients and families remains at the heart of everything we do. We are actively working with legislators and advocacy partners to address and reverse funding cuts, while continuing to advocate for sustainable, long-term solutions and will keep our community partners informed of updates.

Together, we will continue striving to ensure that our patients, families and community members have access to the mental health care they need.
