April Mental and Behavioral Health Roundup

Urgent Mental Health Support Throughout Washington Available through Psychiatric Urgent Care Virtual Visits

Seattle Children’s Psychiatric Urgent Care is designed as an alternative treatment setting for youth who are experiencing a mental health crisis who need urgent (same day) intervention but do not need the services of an emergency department. The team of licensed mental health therapists, family advocates/case managers, psychiatric advanced practice providers, and medical assistants provide crisis assessment, initial care recommendations, and referrals to follow-up care in the community.

While in-person visits are available, there is broader patient reach and more appointment availability (especially on weekends) through video visits. Patients can access virtual care by joining a virtual line to be seen during operating hours (12 to 8 p.m. daily; closed on major holidays). This option allows youth throughout Washington, including those with autism and intellectual and development disabilities, to access high-quality and timely care for their acute mental needs. Visit the clinic page for more information.
