EpicCare Link Service Interruption: Summary and Resolution
November 14, 2025
Seattle Children’s experienced an intermittent service interruption affecting EpicCare Link beginning the morning of Monday, November 10. During this period, some users were unable to access key EpicCare Link functions, including searching for patients, reviewing results and submitting referrals. While not all users were impacted, we recognize that the disruption created challenges for our community partners and internal teams.
The issue was fully resolved at 10:05 a.m. today, Friday, November 14. After a thorough investigation, the root cause was identified as a misconfigured geoblocking setting within the external hosting and network services supporting our Epic environment. This configuration issue limited communication between Seattle Children’s and the hosted Epic instance, resulting in the intermittent service failures.
Our teams worked closely with our external service partners throughout the week to diagnose and correct the issue. With the configuration restored, all EpicCare Link services are now functioning as expected.
We appreciate the patience and partnership of our users as we worked to restore full service.
