April New Resource Roundup
Sleep Medicine: New Resources
Nearly half of all children have trouble sleeping at some point in their lives. Seattle Children’s Sleep Medicine Clinic has new tools for community providers to share with families, linked below. Additionally, the Sleep Clinic will be sending FaxBacks for every referral received to help better triage patients and get them resources while they are waiting. Providers will also have the option to send their patient straight to a sleep study and bypass Sleep Clinic, if they feel it is clinically indicated. This may help reduce the patient wait time.
- Review the flyer for our new Sleep Success class and refer patients to the class by placing a referral to Psychiatry and in the referral reason write Sleep Success Class.
- Share this interactive tool with families to help them identify sleep training books that may support their sleep goals for their child.
Updates in Pediatric Asthma Management
Our Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team has summarized and outlined a review of changes from the last five years to support Community Providers in their care of impacted patients. We also have an algorithm to support your management of these patients and outline when to refer them to Pulmonary.
Pediatric Pandemic Network
Seattle Children’s is a member of the Pediatric Pandemic Network, a network that strives to coordinate, prepare, and enable high-quality, equitable, research-based pediatric care in emergencies, disasters and pandemics. Through PPN, children’s hospitals serve as regional hubs for improving care for all children in pandemics, disasters, and every day. We’ve added a link to the PPN from our Healthcare Professionals page and will continue to share important updates with our community as they become available.
