Alex Chau, MD, MS

Biography
Alex Chau, MD, MS, is a pediatric and adult interventional radiologist. He has been deeply involved in advancing clinical care for complex vascular anomalies, portal vein recanalization and pediatric liver transplant–related interventions. Nationally and internationally, Dr. Chau has been active in research, education and outreach — authoring and coauthoring numerous peer-reviewed publications, presenting at major society meetings and building partnerships to expand access to pediatric IR care, including the development of a Vascular Anomalies Center of Excellence in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Dr. Chau earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and microbiology at California State University Los Angeles before completing a master's degree in applied physiology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, followed by residency in diagnostic radiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology at New York University Medical Center and pediatric interventional radiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Chau is certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic and interventional radiology. His academic appointments have included associate professor of pediatric and adult vascular interventional radiology at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s.
