"Caring for children with chronic liver disease is a privilege because we have the ability to give very sick children a new and healthy life. Although the journey to a liver transplant can be long and uncertain, I assure families we will make the journey together so they never feel alone in the process. I enjoy gaining a family's trust and appreciate their faith in my ability to help their child heal. I am constantly humbled by the gratitude of families who never fail to thank us no matter the outcome. We experience so much together that it's not easy to let go when our patients graduate to adult care. Each time they leave I feel like there's an empty nest."
