As senior vice president, chief digital officer and chief AI and information officer, Dr. Zafar Chaudry leads technology initiatives and enterprise-wide information systems and services to empower clinicians and researchers to diagnose, treat and support patients, ensuring the highest standards of excellence.

Chaudry, who began his career as a physician, has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare informatics and a strong technical, business and international standards-based approach to information technology (IT). He held senior IT roles in startups and faculty positions at the City Colleges of Chicago. He was chief information officer (CIO) at Europe’s largest women’s hospital (Liverpool Women’s) and largest children’s hospital (Alder Hey) in Liverpool, England. He also served as research director for global healthcare at Gartner and most recently was CIO of Cambridge University Hospitals in the UK.

He earned his MD from Ross University and holds an MS in healthcare management and policy from the University of Birmingham, an MIS in information systems management from the University of Salford and an MBA from Aston University, all in the UK.

Outside of work, Chaudry enjoys international travel and is an avid fan of science fiction.
