Orthopedics

On staff since August 2017

Academic Title: Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery

"I love being around kids: the best part of my day is when I make a connection with your child outside of the condition or injury they came for. I know that it is an important step toward working as a team with your entire family to make you as educated, prepared, and comfortable with the treatment plan as possible."

  • Dr. Jennifer Bauer grew up in Buffalo, NY before attending Brown University for college. After working as an admission officer there, she returned to school at Case Western Reserve University for a dual medical and Masters of Anatomy degree. Her love of pediatric orthopaedics began at Case, where she attended weekly pediatric orthopaedic clinic for fun after her classes, and began orthopaedic research. She completed her residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center while coaching several youth sports teams. Before joining the staff at Seattle Children's, she spent a year in pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at Nemours AI duPont Hospital for Children where her time was focused on care of the pediatric spine. Her clinical interests are devoted to all aspects of spine management, pediatric trauma, and fracture care. Dr. Bauer continues to dedicate time to orthopaedic research to improve the field of spinal deformity and pediatric fractures. Outside of the hospital she enjoys most water and outdoor activities including sailing, kiteboarding, and cycling.
