  • Biography

    Dr. Krabak is a Sports Medicine specialist in the Departments of Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He focuses on the prevention/treatment of sports-related injuries and sports performance enhancement in youth and adult recreational to professional athletes. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York-Buffalo. He completed an internship at the Johns Hopkins-Sinai Hospital Internal Medicine program and his PM&R residency at Tufts University where he was Chief Resident. Dr Krabak obtained specialty training in Sports Medicine at the Mayo Clinic and was a faculty member at Johns Hopkins prior to joining the University of Washington.

    Dr Krabak has extensive sports medicine experience including: Olympic Games: 2010 Vancouver, 2004 Athens and 2002 Salt Lake Games Professional Sports: Baltimore Orioles, Hagerstown Suns (NY Mets) Collegiate Sports: University of Washington, Seattle University, Johns Hopkins University National Team Physician: USA Swimming Medical Director: RacingThePlanet 4 Deserts Ultramarathons, Baltimore Marathon, Med-City Marathon Physician: Seattle Marathon, Boston Marathon He has a particular interest in endurance athletes (swimmers, runners, triathletes, cyclists and adventure racers), concussions and baseball injuries. As a competitive athlete participating in multi-day adventure races, mountain bike races and Ironman triathlons, he understands the importance of balancing fitness and preventing injury. His research interests focus on the prevention and treatment of overuse injuries in runners, swimmers and ballet dancers. His current research includes assessing injuries in multi-day ultramarathon adventure athletes, predicting injuries in swimmers and functional assessment of ballet dancers in preventing injuries.
