Kristin was part of my care team during my initial sarcoma treatment as a child and she is now my main nurse practitioner during my relapse treatment as a young adult. She is very knowledgeable about a variety of cancer treatments and she also has practical insights and instincts from her decades of experience treating patients. This combination is invaluable and potentially lifesaving in many situations. For instance, earlier this year I had come in to see her with some relatively nonspecific symptoms and yet she was able to quickly connect the dots between the symptoms and sent me for a scan immediately. She even called the radiologist to discuss my symptoms so they had more context about what to pay special attention to when reading the scan. As it turned out, Kristin’s instincts were right and I did have a serious issue that landed me in the hospital for a month. I have seen her many times throughout my treatment and regardless of whether she is managing serious symptoms or routine side effects, she listens well, cares greatly, brings deep medical knowledge to bear, is persistent in finding solutions, and always makes my situation better. I am so grateful that she is part of my care team.
