This is a workshop for parents whose children live with ongoing health conditions or special needs. Through writing we can explore the ways illness effects our lives; learn to express feelings and find ways to refocus them so they don’t overwhelm us; creatively replenish ourselves; and use writing as a form of self-care. Suzanne Edison, MA, psychotherapist, poet and the mother of a child with a rare autoimmune disease, leads parent support groups nationally and at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She also teaches a writing workshop for teens with chronic illness at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic.
