The Luquetti Lab collaborates with researchers and institutions in the U.S. and South America. We work closely with, Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati (Lima, Peru) and with investigators with the Latin American Collaborative Study of Congenital Malformations (ECLAMC). Our goal is to improve our understanding of microtia and other craniofacial malformations. The lab's collaborators include:
Milagros Duenas Roque, MD
Dr. Milagros Duenas Roque has a broad background in medical genetics and epidemiology, with specific training and experience in research related to congenital malformations. She has been an active member of the Latin American Collaborative Study of Congenital Malformations (ECLAMC) since November 2012.
Paola Ayala, MS
Paola Ayala is a bacteriologist at the at the Human Genetics Institute at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She holds a master’s degree in preeclampsia genetics. She has been working for eight years in basic research while teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has developed research in congenital malformations, inborn errors of metabolism, maternal-fetal medicine and neurodegenerative diseases in human populations.
