Susan Hale is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in Skeletal Health at Seattle Childrens Hospital in the Orthopedics Department. Her current practice is expanding to include metabolic bone disease and helping children with spine/hip problems. She has spent her career at Seattle Childrens as well as Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital in Tacoma and Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH.
Her clinical and research interests center on helping children with the following diseases and syndromes:
- Complex Medical Care Coordination/Collaboration
- Lysosomal Storage Diseases
- Metabolic Bone Diseases, including osteogenesis imperfecta, and osteoporosis of
disuse as in neuromuscular diseases
- Skeletal Dysplasia Disease
Susan has participated in a number of medication clinical trials and research studies related to the diseases and syndromes listed above. She serves on Advisory Boards on topics impacting care for rare diseases.
She is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor at UWs School of Nursing, where she completed her own training from bachelor of nursing to post-masters certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Outside of the hospital, Susan enjoys family time, including being a Grandma, knitting and Husky sports.
