Scaling Up Community-Based Child Mental Health Interventions – Lessons So Far from Trials in WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Region

Clinicians trained in high resource countries recognize a lack of mental health resources as limiting their scope of work, but quickly turn to requests for funding or increases in the number of highly trained personnel as the only response. However, there is abundant evidence that even in high resource countries the supply of highly trained mental health professionals needed to help prevent and treat mental health problems will never be available or affordable.
