Radiology (Medical Imaging)

Seattle Children's Department of Radiology offers the full array of pediatric radiology services provided by dedicated staff uniquely trained and skilled in the care of infants, children and adolescents, and their families.

The department performs and interprets more than 100,000 examinations per year with state-of-the-art imaging equipment. Seattle Children's also provides radiation oncology services through our affiliations with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the University of Washington.

How to Refer a Patient

Routine diagnostic X-rays

Fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI studies, PET studies and bone densitometry

Vascular, interventional and complex procedures

  • These procedures require consultation with a radiologist. Please call Interventional Radiology at 206-987-4599.

Pediatric sedation and anesthesia

  • If you know your patient will require this service, please tell the scheduler at the time you request the exam as well as indicating this request on the Exam Request Form.
  • Sedation by a pediatric anesthesiologist is available at both the hospital campus in Seattle and at the Bellevue Clinic and Surgery Center.

Hours

Hospital campus in Seattle

  • Emergency and inpatient radiology services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Outpatient diagnostic X-ray (walk-in) is available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Other outpatient services are offered Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to approximately 9 p.m., depending on modality.
  • The radiology fileroom is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Should you require an emergent radiology study after hours, please contact the attending radiologist on-call through the Seattle Children's operator at 206-987-7777 to discuss the case specifics and determine the most appropriate imaging service to be performed.

Bellevue Clinic and Surgery Center

  • X-ray hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • MRI hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pediatric anesthesiologists available if sedation or anesthesia is required.

Everett

  • X-ray hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Ultrasound hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Federal Way
