Safety and Injury Prevention
Kohl’s Safety Program at Seattle Children’s
Due to COVID-19, helmet and life jacket giveaway events have been postponed.
In partnership with Kohl’s Cares, we travel Washington state providing free helmet and life jacket fittings/giveaway events and educational demonstrations with our outreach team. We teach parents and kids how to properly fit every helmet and life jacket we give away, but we don’t stop there. We also provide resources to teach you to fit safety devices where you are, whether in the community or at home.
See below for the dates and locations of our free giveaway events this year.
Free Giveaway Events
Children must be present in order to be properly fit and receive a helmet or life jacket. We will give away either life jackets or helmets at events. Children must be ages 1 to 18 to receive a free safety device. All items are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Getting the Proper Fit
A helmet or life jacket won't protect you if it doesn't fit correctly. Learn how to properly fit safety devices with your family. For instructions and additional tips, visit Bike and Multi-Sport Helmets: Quick Fit Check for helmets and Life Jackets for Children and Teens for life jackets.
