Staying Close While Standing Back
Staying Close While Standing Back is a 2-hour session for parents and caregivers who support preteens and teens, and are looking for new ideas on everyday conversations with their children.
Conversations are the building blocks within a family to share ideas, sharpen our edges, build trust, problem solve, gather information, argue our point and share our stories. Family conversations shape who we are as a family and as individuals. In this class, parents will have an opportunity to consider strategies to strengthen family communication with adolescents.
Staying Close While Standing Back is lead by Julie Metzger, creator and founder of Great Conversations For Boys and For Girls programs focused on puberty, sexuality, and decision-making for families of preteens.
