Notification of Data Incident
Seattle Children’s appreciates our community supporters and donors helping us deliver on our mission of providing hope, care and cures to children across our region and beyond. As an organization, we are committed to transparent communication and protecting your data.
On July 16, 2020, we were notified by Blackbaud, a trusted engagement and fundraising software provider used by more than 25,000 universities, healthcare organizations, nonprofits and foundations worldwide, that a data security incident had occurred and a copy of a backup file was accessed. This information contained publicly available information about our donors, including names, contact information, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and mailing addresses. This incident did not include any social security, credit card or banking information or contribution history.
We deeply regret this incident occurred and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our donors. We will continue to monitor this situation as Blackbaud investigates the incident.
