Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

This month, we honor those with pediatric cancer. With your support, Seattle Children’s can accelerate life-saving research to ensure better outcomes for kids with cancer.

Currently, 95% of kids that survive cancer face serious health issues – mostly because of side effects from treatment, not the cancer itself. Kids like Greta and Isaac can face hundreds of days of exhausting treatment. With endless nights of sleeping in a bed that isn’t theirs.

To every kid that “didn’t have a chance,” and to every kid that was “out of options” – Seattle Children’s is fighting for you. So that every kid with cancer can spend more time where they belong: home.

The side effect of the CAR T-cell therapy was a fever. That was it. And to think that the most gentle therapy of her entire course was the thing that put her in remission permanently is mindboggling.

Maggie, cancer parent

Greta’s Life With Cancer

Our hope is that our research and clinical trials don’t just keep them alive, but also leave them a life to live.

Dr. Rebecca Gardner, immunotherapy researcher

Only 4% of federal funding goes toward pediatric research.

When it comes to pediatric cancer research funding, very little comes from government agencies. Private donations from generous people like you make up the difference – and make our lifesaving work possible.

Donations fuel ⅔ of our lifesaving clinical trials.

“Out of options” is not an option. Clinical trials at Seattle Children's bring new therapies to kids, some with previously untreatable conditions. Traditional funding only covers about a third of the cost per patient. Your donation fuels the rest.
