Music: Special Considerations for Children Who Are Deaf/Hard of Hearing

This one-day symposium will focus on the role of music in the lives of children from birth to adolescence and the rationale for music instruction and music-based aural habilitation for children who are deaf/hard of hearing. This includes current research on music training and perception, in addition to safe music listening and conservation. It will also highlight local music programs for children who are deaf/hard of hearing and conclude with a patient panel sharing their thoughts and experiences and the importance of music in their lives. 

Who should attend: Audiologists, educators, school administrators, speech-language pathologists, parents and other professionals working with individuals who are DHH.
