Kimberly Erin Sawyer, MD

"My goal is provide excellent care for children which means integrating with their families and the entire medical team. I seek to understand my patient and his or her familys goals and preferences in order to best tailor their treatment. My clinical and research interests lie in palliative care and ethics, and helping pediatricians to apply these disciplines in their practices."

  • Kimberly Sawyer, MD, FAAP is an Acting Instructor in Pediatric Palliative Care and Senior Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Bioethics at Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington.

    She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She also completed her Pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine, as well as an additional Chief Resident year. She worked as a Critical Care Hospitalist in the pediatric and cardiovascular intensive care units of Texas Children's Hospital before completing her Palliative Care Fellowship.

    Dr. Sawyer now practices Pediatric Palliative Care while completing an additional fellowship in Pediatric Bioethics.

    Dr. Sawyer was previously Kimberly Lehecka.
