Kevin Michael Kollins, MD
On staff since November 2018
"I am fascinated by the heart and I love working with children and their families, making pediatric cardiology a calling and not just a job for me. I feel privileged to be able to take care of families from pregnancy and fetal counseling for congenital heart disease through birth and care in the hospital, and during childhood in the clinic."
Kevin Kollins, MD is a pediatric cardiologist living in Anchorage, Alaska, practicing at Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska, a Seattle Children's Clinic. Prior to his recent move to Alaska, he was a Pediatric Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio, which is partnered with Ohio State University.
Dr. Kollins was born and raised in Virginia and completed his undergraduate training at the University of Virginia and went on to medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School. His pediatric residency was at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, and he was elected by the physician staff there to help lead the residency program as a Chief Resident of Pediatrics prior to going on to his training in cardiology.
Outside of the cardiology practice, Dr. Kollins loves spending time with his wife and 3 young children, enjoying the outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer. He is currently teaching his children to ice skate and is also looking forward to taking photographs of the Aurora Borealis with photography being one of his long-term hobbies.
