Dr. Read began her journey as a clinical psychologist as an undergraduate at Bucknell University, where she was a double major in psychology and creative writing (poetry). She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA under the mentorship of Philip Kendall, Ph.D., after completing several training experiences at Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children and the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Temple University. Dr. Read also received comprehensive training in pediatric psychology at Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children during her residency year. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford University School of Medicine in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department, specializing in treating youth with anxiety, autism, and eating disorders. Dr. Read specializes primarily in the treatment of youth with anxiety disorders and OCD, including when these disorders overlap with other difficulties (e.g., behavioral difficulties, autism, pain, eating, adherence to medical care regimens). She also serves as a psychologist as part of Seattle Childrens diabetes transition clinic for adolescents and young adults. Outside of work, Dr. Read enjoys hiking, reading, and spending quality time with her partner and her dog, Luna.

Kendra has helped our family both with the Selective Mutism Group and the Anxiety Group. She has a unique gift for thinking on her feet and helping people come up with manageable ways to tackle anxieties head on. She gave us hope and helped us to see that we can overcome big hurdles. If I ever need encouragement or help talking to my child's school, Kendra is always willing to help. We have learned so much from her! We hope other families will seek her out and discover that there is hope, there is a way to help our children, and that none of us are alone in this journey.
